| The graphy shows the trend of energy on demand and available in energy units from 1985 to 2005. An enery unit in the graphy is equivalent to 100 billion megojoules. In 1985, the demand of energy was 5 units while the avaiblabe energy only had around 3.5 units. During the period of 5 years, from 1985 to 1990, the demand of energy went down from 5 units to 2 units so that the available energy rose up to 5 units. In the next period of five years, from 1990 to 1995, the energy demanded appeared to level off and remain constant at around 2 unit. And the available energy continued to go up, peaking about 7 units at the end of 1995. After 1995, the demand of energy climbed dramatically and be ppredicted to reach the top of 7 units at 1995. As a result of demand inflation, there is a sharp fall in the number of available energy reaching the bottom in 2000 at 2.5 units. After 2002, the available of available remained stable. To sum up, the demand of energy dropped before 1995 then increased significally after that. In opposite, the number of available energy rose before 1995 while fell after that. | | |
| This chart shows the percentage of women and men in different positions in ACME Oil Company. It is very obvious that the women and men are not equally distributed in the same position. Women enrolled in lower grade officers more than men did. Seventy percentages of Grade E Officers are women while men only took thirty percentages. This is the highest percentage of women in any position within the company. The percentage of women falls slightly in Grade D Officers. In this position, there are 60 percentages of women and 40 percentage of men in this kind of positions. The distribution was more balance in Grade D Officers, which included 45 percentages of women and 50 percentages of men. It was also the first that the number of men is more than that of women. In the higher grade officers, there are a rapidly increase in number of men. Women took less and less jobs. There are 25 percentages of women working as Grade B Officers. The percentage of women reached the bottom in the Grade A Officers, only having less than 10 percentage. Thus, men occupied the most of greater percentage of higher executive positions. There are 75 percentages and 90 percentages of men in Grade B and A Officers. To conclude, women had more percentage in the lower position while taking less and less posts in higher executive positions. In contrast, higher percentage of men could be found in high executive positions. | | |
| This bar chart describes proportion of choices made by overseas students when they are enrolled in a seconded year of Graphic Design course. The chart also can illustrate the preference of different sex and nationality. Overall, there are 27 male students and 30 female students from Japan, Korean, PRC, Taiwan and Germany. As the chart shows, males prefer choosing the CAD core to Photography core. Twenty out of twenty-seven male student chose the CAD, including seven from China, six from Taiwan, four from Japan, three from Korea and one from Germany. By contrast, the decisions made by female are quite different from male students'. Female students prefer to Photography core. Twenty-one out of thirty female students chose the Photography core. However, it is noticeable that three German female students all chose the CAD core. To sum up, this char suggests that most of the male students would choose the CAD core. And female students except from Germany more likely choose the Photography core. | | |
| This char reveals the average hours of unpaid work per week. The men and women have different amount of hours in this aspect. There is an obvious increase trend that married women spend more time on family if they had more children. They only spend 30 hours weekly if they did not have any child. They need to spend 60 hours in a week when they got 1 or 2 children. And when there are more than 2 children in a family, it probably cost them about 60 hours per week on childcare. It is almost the two times as that of people without children. By contrast, the unpaid hours done by married men remained steadily even a slightly reduce while they had more children. Women without children spend around 18 hours per week. However, they only spend about 15 hours per week when they had more than 2 children. This data suggested that the number of children in a family would affect the unpaid hours of married women whereas it did not lead to an increase in number of unpaid hours done by married men. | | |
